Large Properties Mean More to Inspect

Spotting a Fake Certificate and Choosing Who Issues It
The Department of Employment and Labour has warned the public about people who pose as registered electrical contractors and issue certificates for unsafe installations. A fake certificate can mean a failed transfer, an unsafe house and a dispute with your bank or insurer. A proper electrical certificate shows the registered person’s name, signature and registration details, a unique number, the address, the date and a completed test report. Be wary of a certificate offered without a visit, a price far below every other quote, or blank sections in the test report.
