Sectional Title And Estate Properties In Westlake

Common Findings In Westlake Inspections

Do I need an Electrical COC to sell a property in Westlake?
Yes. An Electrical Certificate of Compliance is required whenever a property in South Africa changes ownership, and in Cape Town a Plumbing (Water) COC is also required on transfer. Gas, Electric Fence and Beetle certificates are needed where those apply. We can issue all of them for your Westlake property in one booking.
I’m selling a unit in a Westlake complex. What does my COC cover?
For a sectional title unit, the Electrical COC covers the installation from your unit’s distribution board onwards. Common property wiring, such as complex lighting and main gates, is the responsibility of the body corporate. We clearly separate the two in our report.
Do business premises in Westlake need a Certificate of Compliance?

Any change to the electrical installation must be certified. For a sale you will need a Solar Certificate of Compliance in addition to the Electrical COC. We issue both together.
