When A Commercial Property Needs A COC
An Electrical Certificate of Compliance is required when a commercial or industrial property changes ownership, and a new certificate is required whenever the electrical installation is added to or altered. In practice that means after a new tenant fit-out, new machinery or production lines, additional sub-boards, cold rooms, compressors, welding supplies or EV charging. Landlords, insurers and financiers frequently ask for a current certificate, and many leases require the tenant or landlord to keep one on file. We inspect the installation as it stands today and tell you clearly what is compliant and what is not.

Yes. An Electrical Certificate of Compliance is required whenever a property changes ownership, whether it is residential, commercial or industrial.
We have installed new machinery in our Epping factory. Do we need a new COC?
Yes. Any addition or alteration to the electrical installation, including supplies for new machinery, requires a new certificate for the work done. We inspect the new work and the installation it connects to.
Can you certify just one unit in a multi-tenant park?
Yes. We can certify an individual unit from its own distribution board, the landlord’s common installation, or the whole park, and clearly show where responsibility lies.
Can inspections be done outside of production hours?
Yes. Some tests require circuits to be switched off briefly, so we can schedule the inspection early, late or over a weekend to minimise downtime.
