Thermo Group — Solar Experts You Can Trust
Affordable solar installations for homes and businesses in Noordhoek — quality workmanship, transparent pricing, no premium mark-up.
At Thermo Group, we install solar PV, battery and hybrid systems throughout Noordhoek — the semi-rural peninsula suburb below Chapman’s Peak, home to wetlands, Milkwood forest and equestrian estates, roughly 30km from the city centre. We design every Noordhoek system around its larger properties, coastal humidity and genuinely rural grid, not a standard seaboard template.

Our experienced team handles the complete solar installation process in Noordhoek — from surveying the property’s actual sun hours and shading, through design, installation, testing, compliance and registration.
Noordhoek’s equestrian estates and smallholdings often mean stables and outbuildings to power alongside the main house, and a semi-rural grid connection worth assessing properly rather than assuming. We design around your property’s full electricity usage, roof and local conditions. We carry out both residential and commercial solar installations, and our technicians are experienced in installing and maintaining these systems for the long term.

What We Design Around In Noordhoek
Coastal Damp & Wetland Humidity
Wetlands and Milkwood forest keep humidity high; corrosion and earthing checks matter more here than salt air alone.
Larger Properties & Smallholdings
Equestrian estates and bigger stands mean bigger roofs, stables and outbuildings to power, not a single small roof.
A Genuinely Rural Grid
Noordhoek’s semi-rural grid connection means backup and battery sizing deserves a proper assessment, not a guess.
Why A Noordhoek Solar Installation Isn’t A Generic Cape Town Job
Noordhoek sits below Chapman’s Peak on the far side of the peninsula, roughly 30km from the city centre — a semi-rural suburb of wetlands, Milkwood forest and equestrian estates rather than a dense seaboard neighbourhood. We plan a site visit around its bigger properties, coastal humidity and rural grid connection, not a standard suburban template.
Designing For Damp, Wetland-Adjacent Conditions
Noordhoek’s wetlands and Milkwood forest keep humidity noticeably higher than most of Cape Town. We specify hardware and earthing with that dampness in mind, rather than a coastal-salt assumption that doesn’t quite fit here.
Powering Estates, Smallholdings & Stables
Many Noordhoek properties are equestrian estates or smallholdings with stables, arenas and outbuildings alongside the main house. We size systems around the property’s full load, not just the house itself.

We Don't Just Install — We Maintain
At Thermo Group, our relationship with our Noordhoek clients doesn’t end when the solar installation is complete.
We offer ongoing maintenance and servicing for Noordhoek solar systems, helping ensure equipment keeps operating safely and efficiently despite the area’s coastal wetland humidity. Our team can assist with inspections, fault finding, inverter issues, battery systems, electrical connections and general system maintenance — including estate and outbuilding installations.
Regular maintenance can also help identify potential problems before they become expensive failures.
SSEG & City of Cape Town Registration
Installing a solar system is only part of the process. Where required, your system must also be properly documented and registered with the City of Cape Town.
Thermo Group can assist clients with the SSEG application and registration process, helping ensure that the required documentation, electrical compliance requirements and system information are correctly dealt with.
Our goal is to make the process as straightforward as possible for the property owner.

Book Your Noordhoek Solar Installation
Fill in your details below and our team will contact you to discuss your solar installation or maintenance needs in Noordhoek.
How much does solar installation cost in Noordhoek?
It depends on your household’s usage and system size — a small backup system for essentials during load shedding costs far less than a full system covering your whole home. We assess your usage and roof before quoting, so you get an accurate price rather than a generic estimate.
How long does a solar installation take in Noordhoek?
Most residential installations take 1 to 3 days on site, depending on system size and roof complexity, plus the time needed for approvals. We’ll give you a clear timeline once we’ve assessed your property.
Does Noordhoek’s wetland setting affect where you install equipment?
Yes. We take extra care with earthing and outdoor enclosure placement in Noordhoek, since the valley’s humidity and proximity to the wetlands affect connector and earthing longevity more than in drier suburbs.
Will solar keep my home running during load shedding?
Yes. A correctly installed and configured solar and battery system will keep your essential circuits running during load shedding, and we handle the City of Cape Town’s SSEG registration and Notice of Completion as part of every installation.
Do you also handle compliance certificates and ongoing maintenance for the system?
Yes. We issue the Solar Certificate of Compliance your installation needs, and we offer ongoing maintenance and fault-finding to keep it performing well for years — whether we installed it or another company did.
