What We Design Around In Higgovale
Fire-Conscious Installation Near Fynbos
Higgovale’s position against Table Mountain’s fynbos means we follow fire-conscious cabling and enclosure practices for any rooftop or outdoor solar equipment.
Steep Roof Angles
Higgovale’s older homes often have steeper, more complex roof lines than newer suburbs, which affects panel layout and mounting design.
Steep Access For Installation
Higgovale’s narrow, steep streets toward Kloof Nek affect how we plan equipment delivery and installation days.
Solar Installation On Higgovale’s Historic Mountain-Edge Homes
Higgovale’s position on the upper slopes toward Kloof Nek, bordering Table Mountain’s fynbos, means we follow fire-conscious practices for any rooftop cabling and outdoor equipment. The suburb’s older, architecturally distinctive homes also tend to have steeper and more complex roof lines than newer developments, which shapes how we lay out panels and mounting.
Sizing Your Higgovale System
Given the scale of most Higgovale properties, systems here are typically sized larger than average, with battery banks designed to cover a bigger portion of the home’s usage.
Compliance & Registration
We plan equipment access around Higgovale’s steep, narrow streets ahead of the installation date, so the job runs smoothly despite the terrain.

We Don't Just Install — We Maintain
At Thermo Group, our relationship with our Higgovale clients doesn’t end at installation.
We offer ongoing solar maintenance and fault-finding for Higgovale properties, helping catch issues from local conditions before they affect your system’s performance. Our team can assist with panel cleaning, inverter servicing, battery health checks and general system maintenance.
Regular checks help identify potential problems before they cause an outage or affect your system’s output.
SSEG & City of Cape Town Registration
Installing a solar system is only part of the process. Where required, your system must also be properly documented and registered with the City of Cape Town.
Thermo Group can assist clients with the SSEG application and registration process, helping ensure that the required documentation, electrical compliance requirements and system information are correctly dealt with.
Our goal is to make the process as straightforward as possible for the property owner.
